Salvatore Ferragamo protagonista della Mostra del Cinema di Venezia. Questa volta però il nome della maison non sarà legata ai red carpet, ma un lungometraggio, diretto da Luca Guadagnino che racconta la vita, il genio e la maestria del celebre calzolaio e imprenditore italiano. Il film s’intitola “Salvatore, Shoemaker of dreams”.

The result is a film “Salvatore, Shoemaker of Dreams”, that traces the incredible journey of founder Salvatore Ferragamo, from an apprentice shoemaker in Naples to being the owner of the illustrious Hollywood Boot Shop in California, following his return to Italy and the establishment of a base in Florence, while mastering his craft and rising to success as a businessman. Pare che Guadagnino sia stato molto colpito dall’autobiografia del celebre calzolaio e imprenditore italiano. E che nel 2017 abbia proposto alla maison l’idea di questo lungometraggio dedicato alla vita e alla storia di Salvatore Ferragamo, che vanta anche numerose testimonianze e contributi, soprattutto della moglie di Salvatore, Wanda Miletti. E non è tutto, perché sono restaurate delle registrazioni autentiche con la voce di Ferragamo che narra alcuni capitoli della sua autobiografia e le interviste radiofoniche rilasciate in Australia.

Il lavoro è durato ben tre anni e sono stati coinvolti attivamente la Fondazione e il Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, Luca Guadagnino, la sceneggiatrice Dana Thomas, mettendo a disposizione competenze e conoscenze diverse di carattere storico, e Michael Stuhlbarg, voce narrante del docufilm.
